PThomas, thanks for your suggestion regarding TVIX. The backtest of that screen on TVIX isn't terribly promising until/unless the gap becomes pronounced, but I certainly don't mind adding another screen to my daily regimen. Never too old or stubborn to learn, or appreciate the advice of others.

You're welcome. and i think your assessment is correct. It's not like if the blue line crosses over the red line you are in for a $1 spread. I use it more or less to manage risk on trades. i.e. if I actively manage the trade and enter right when I see some spacing, it might not be a big trade but I will have the opportunity to get out without getting killed.

I sometimes day trade but mostly swing trade. Day traders are bad people.
Day traders are degenerate gamblers. Day traders lose therefore they are losers.
Day traders are looking for a little rush to fullfill an otherwise meaningless life...
Swing traders are well balanced, they are cautious yet know how to have fun.
Buy and hold can be good, but strictly buy and hold people are stuffy and boring...
They are bad people...

They are seriously taking their time tanking the market which is just fine with me.
Still long with a portion of my money but mostly in cash. This will still run till
we have a strong washout.
Meanwhile, The Shill will be dining for Lunch at Blu Fish in the Chicago suburbs
with his still not so bad kind of hott Filipino wife. I would be more than happy
to sign several autographs.
